Christine Devocelle promoted to Senior VP and CFO
September 23, 2015 11:45 AMURBANA, IL—Christine C. Devocelle, a longtime University of Illinois Foundation (UIF) executive, has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer of the fundraising organization, effective Sept. 1, 2015.
Formerly the U of I Foundation’s vice president for development services, Devocelle, in her new position, oversees UIF’s business development, strategy and financial operations, including the ongoing development of, and compliance with, policies and procedures. She leads a team responsible for gift and real estate acceptance and administration, accounting and finance, information technology, information governance, user support, records, and human resources. Devocelle will continue to serve as the team leader for the Advance Illinois project, a new and complex relational database system. Additionally, she serves as a senior advisor to the U of I Foundation president and as assistant secretary to the U of I Foundation Board of Directors.

Devocelle earned a bachelor’s degree in financial accounting at Illinois State University and an M.B.A. at the University of Illinois. Prior to joining the UIF, she worked at Bank One Bloomington‑Normal beginning as a commercial teller and financial analyst, advancing to business banking officer.
A Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor, Devocelle is a member of the Illinois CPA Society. A resident of Champaign, she is an active member of the Crisis Nursery Board and an Audit Committee member of the Community Foundation of East Central Illinois.
